In the first innings, India's batting lineup amassed 587 runs, with notable contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal (87), Shubman Gill (269), Ravindra Jadeja (89), and Washington Sundar (42), setting a daunting target for England. Despite Harry Brook and Jamie Smith's efforts, scoring 158 and 184 respectively, England could only reach 407 runs. Siraj also took five wickets, while Akashdeep claimed four.
